Kochsalz, zu behandeln und so durch doppelte Umsetzung eine Lösung von Metallchlorid und Natriumsulfit bzw. -bisulfit herzustellen und aus dieser gemischten Lösung schliesslich das Alkalisulfit durch Sättigen mit Alkalichlorid, z. B. Kochsalz. abzuscheiden. während Metallchlorid der Hauptsache nach in Lösung bleibt.
