EMI1.1

EMI1.1
The subject of the present invention is a splint bandage for fractures of the extremities, which is suitable for use in the field as well as in hospitals. According to the invention, it can be used equally suitably for the right as well as for the left extremities and enables the broken limb blots to be exposed at the wound site without otherwise having to stir with the bandage.
It fixes the broken limb in place almost like a plaster cast and can be used as a normal splint (e.g. for transport) or in an extension bandage.
In the drawing, a splint according to the present invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment. FIG. 1 is a view of the rail association spread out in one plane, FIG. 2 shows the rail association with the side walls folded out.
The rail association consists in a known manner of two articulated and extendable base plates a and b. According to the invention, side plates c are hinged to these, which can be pivoted to both sides of the base plates so that the splint bandage can be used for the right extremities as well as for the left ones.
The side plates c are advantageously subdivided several times for the purpose of only being able to expose the wound site if necessary and not having to stir with the remaining part of the dressing, and are more flexible so that they are firmly attached when tying. A removable sole plate e, which can be displaced with it, is expediently hinged to the auxiliary plate d.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Rail association, characterized in that pivotable side plates (c) are articulated to a base plate (a, b).
