Method for fusing together glass objects.

In the case of vacuum tubes and electric light bulbs, the internal parts such as R. Filaments, while the outer balloon and the attached socket parts are still completely usable.

There are now several methods of unifying the inner parts. One of the simplest methods is to blow apart the cylindrical part of the glass bulb and, after the internal parts have been renewed, melt it back together. This work must be done by hand by a very skilled glassblower. But Dadmch often makes the work more expensive than the production of a new piece.
 EMI1.1
and adjust so below. dans the ring of flames just meets the joint of the disassembled glass parts.

The upper holder of the glass balloon is now set so that the glass balloon does not lie on it, but on the lower part of the glass and, due to its own weight, can sink by 1 / to 2 nini when the melting point is softened before it sits on the upper holder and is intercepted by this. The melting point is automatically compressed so that a secure connection between the two glass halves is guaranteed.

The drawing illustrates the process on an electric light bulb. a is the lower holder for the detached cylindrical part of the light bulb. b is the upper holder for the bulb d of the lamp. c is the wreath of flames. The glass balloon d rests on the cylindrical lower part e.

This holding frame with both holding devices is now given a rotating movement and the flames are directed towards the interface. If the glass begins to soften, it sinks
 EMI1.2
and after cooling, the fused glass body is removed, whereupon the device is loaded again through two other halves.

Inserting and removing the parts can be done by untrained work in this work process.

Of course, the fusing process is also autonomous
