MeMtformM for the production of objects from Kun8tatelnmaaa ..
Sorel's cement, which is known to be obtained by mixing burnt magnesia with a chlorine magnesium solution, is particularly suitable for the production of plates, columns, façon pieces and similar objects from artificial stone.
The Sorelian Coment and all those plastic masses which, after hardening, assume great strength and withstand the effects of moisture and weathering, have the property, according to experience, of heating up very strongly when they set. This has made the manufacture of the above-mentioned items very much so far
EMI1.1
To obtain a high-gloss surface of the finished objects without the need for subsequent polishing, the warming that occurs when the mass sets very quickly caused the expensive glass forms to shatter.
Attempts have now been made to use metal molds with a smooth surface instead of glass molds; This did not produce any useful result because the smooth surface was destroyed after a very short time as a result of the chemical action of the plastic masses on the metal.
To avoid all of these inconveniences, metal molds are used according to the present invention, want on those surfaces that give the object to be manufactured their gradation, with a completely smooth layer that is as resistant as possible to high temperatures and chemical decomposition, z. H. are provided with a hard lacquer or enamel layer.
In the accompanying drawing, such a form for producing a table top is shown in view and in cross section.
With (i, the metal parts and with b the enamel layer for the work surfaces of the form is indicated.
The pieces obtained by pouring the mass onto such a base
