Bohrfutter.

Drill chuck.
The subject of the invention is a self-tensioning drill chuck of the type in which conical clamping jaws acting in a wedge-like manner are arranged in a clamping sleeve. The invention
EMI1.1
Turning the drill to try to roll off the inner surfaces of the clamping sleeve that are eccentric to the central axis, so that they are progressively pressed more and more evenly against the drill shank. The clamping of the tool is expediently carried out in this way. that the rollers can be inserted from above into the clamping sleeve, surrounding the shank, and are initially brought into loose contact with the drill shank by screwing the clamping sleeve, whereupon the further tightening takes place automatically in the manner indicated above.
In the drawing, Figs. 1 and 2 show the chuck in longitudinal section for cylindrical and conical drill shafts and Fig. 3 shows a cross section along line AB of Fig. 1. Fig. 4 shows the chuck seen from below. It consists of the threaded one Body a, the screw-on adapter sleeve b and the conical rollers c.
The drill is inserted in the middle between the three rollers and held by them as soon as the clamping sleeve is slightly tightened. If the drill wants to stop while working, the rollers c tend to roll on the jacket of the drill shank and are pressed so tightly against the drill shank by the appropriately designed surfaces f of the clamping sleeve that the drill is now taken along and all the more firmly the greater the resistance to the movement. The shape of the conical rollers is adapted to the drill shaft depending on whether it is cylindrical or conical.
