Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Tannin, Hexamethylentetramin und Calcium enthaltenden
Verbindung.

PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE : i.

Process for the preparation of a tannin containing hexamethylenetetramine and calcium
Connection.

The production of tannin-calcium compounds is known, but it was not known that alkali-soluble compounds that are sparingly soluble in water are obtained if concentrated calcium chloride-hexamethylenetetramine solutions are precipitated with tannic acid. The substances obtained in this way can be further processed into tannin-calcium-protein compounds, which are sparingly soluble in hydrochloric acid, by dissolving them in hydrochloric acid and precipitating them with protein solution.

Example: To a solution of 10 g of calcium chloride in about 40 g of water, a hexamethylenetetramine solution is added which contains 10 g of hexamethylenetetramine in about 40 g of water. If a solution of 15 g of tannin in 60 g of water is poured into the mixture, a precipitate is obtained which, filtered off, washed and dried, is a white powder that is sparingly soluble in water, but dissolves at about 800. If concentrated hydrochloric acid is added to the suspension of the powder in cold water, the precipitate dissolves completely, but if further acid is added, clouding and finally precipitation occur. The precipitate is easily soluble in alkali.

Example 2: iog the substance obtained according to example i are suspended in 150 g of water and gently warmed. Concentrated hydrochloric acid is added dropwise to the preheated solution with stirring until complete dissolution has occurred, which requires about 4 cc of hydrochloric acid. It is cooled and about 50 cc of an iodine blood protein solution is added to the solution, a precipitate separating out which contains calcium, protein and hexamethylenetetramine at about 23% tannin content. The precipitate is filtered off, washed and dried. The preparation is sparingly soluble in water and hydrochloric acid, but is visibly attacked immediately by alkalis and dissolves slowly at room temperature and more rapidly at higher temperatures.
