<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to an upholstery for seating and / or reclining furniture, consisting of a rigid frame, in particular made of wood, an upholstery and a covering essentially enveloping these two parts.
In the case of known upholstery of this type, the individual parts are connected to one another by clips, nails, screws, adhesive or the like. This not only involves considerable assembly effort, but also makes recycling the upholstery more difficult because the separation of the different materials that make up the upholstery is relatively difficult.
The invention has set itself the goal of creating an upholstery of the type mentioned at the outset which, on the one hand, can be easily manufactured, but in particular can also be easily dismantled into its constituents belonging to different material groups, so that recycling is made possible in a simple manner. This is achieved, starting from an upholstery of the type mentioned at the outset, in that the frame and the upholstery are only positively connected to one another in the direction parallel to the seat and / or lying surface and the cover as a unit that can be opened, for example, by a zipper, completely covers the upholstery and the frame and thus ensures the positive connection between the upholstery and the frame.
The training according to the invention achieves a service and environmentally friendly construction of the upholstery, in which different materials of the upholstery (textiles, foams, wood or metal) are easily detachably connected to one another. The cohesion of the upholstery is achieved by pre-tensioning the cover, which is closed in particular by means of a zip, and the shape of the upholstery components.
The form-fitting connection of upholstery and frame can be achieved in different ways. It has proven to be particularly expedient if the frame has a web running all round, which encompasses the cushion
An embodiment according to the invention with a spring core is characterized in that the spring core is at least partially surrounded by a foam molded body and the foam molded body has a shoulder which lies within the web of the frame.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
If the resilient part of the upholstery consists only of foam, it is possible within the scope of the invention that a foam molded body forming the upholstery has a shoulder which lies within the web of the frame.
The invention is described in more detail below with reference to two exemplary embodiments shown in the drawings, but without being restricted to these examples. 1 shows a cross section through an upholstery according to the invention with a spring core; FIG. 2 shows the exploded view of the individual parts of the upholstery according to FIG. 1; 3 shows a cross section through an upholstery according to the invention with a foam core. 4 in a representation corresponding to FIG. 2, the individual parts of the upholstery according to FIG. 3.
1 and 2, a wooden frame 1 is provided which consists of longitudinal strips 2, webs 3 placed thereon and a series of cross strips 4 forming a grid. An intermediate layer 5 is placed on the cross strips 4 and the spring core 6 lies thereon A further intermediate layer 7 is placed on the spring core.
A foam molded body 8 consisting of a plurality of individual parts bonded to one another encompasses the spring core 6 on its sides and from above. An all-round shoulder 9 arranged in the foam molded body 8 interacts with the webs 3 of the frame 1 in such a way that the shoulder 9 of the foam - Shaped body 8 lies within the webs 3 of the frame 1.
Due to the interaction of the webs 3 with the paragraph 9 is in

A cover 11 consists of a cap 12 and a lower gradel (Drell) or fabric cover 13. The cover 13 is sewn to the cap 12 on one long side, and connected on the other three sides by means of a zipper 14 schematically indicated in FIG. 2. When the zipper 14 is closed, the cover 11 completely surrounds the unit consisting essentially of the frame 1, the spring core 6 and the foam molded body 8 and thus holds the shoulder 9 of the foam molded body 8 within the webs 3 of the frame 1

If the upholstery is to be disassembled, it is only necessary to open the zipper 14 and the individual parts of the upholstery can be separated from one another.
The embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4 differs from the embodiment just discussed in that instead of a foam molded body 8 and a spring core 6, a uniform foam molded body 8 'is provided, which forms the resilient part of the upholstery and has a shoulder 9' is provided.
This foam molded body 8 'consists of a material which is commercially available under the name "Waterlily" and is a type of cold foam which is produced by means of a process which is based on water and is extremely
