  Galvanisches Element mit Kalkstickstoffkohle als leitender Substanz. 



   Es wurde gefunden, dass die in Kalkstickstoff enthaltene Kohle mit ausgezeichnetem Erfolg zur Herstellung stromleitender Teile von galvanischen Elementen, insbesondere auch von Trockenelementen, Verwendung finden kann. Aus praktischen Gründen gewinnt man die Kohle zweckmässig nicht aus Kalkstickstoff, sondern aus den   schlammförmigen   Rückständen, welche bei der Verarbeitung von Kalkstickstoff auf Stickstoff haltige Körper, wie Dicyandiamid, Ammoniak usw. verbleiben. Aus diesen Rückständen, welche im wesentlichen Ätzkalk bzw. kohlensauren Kalk, daneben aber auch noch erhebliche Mengen von Kohle enthalten, wird die nach Erfindung zur Verwendung kommende Kohle abgeschieden. 



   Die aus Kalkstickstoff oder zweckmässiger aus den Verarbeitungsrückständen desselben abgeschiedene Kohle übertrifft in ihrer Ergiebigkeit nicht nur bei weitem die natürlichen Graphite, sondern   überraschenderweise   auch den besten künstlichen Graphit. Es wurde festgestellt, dass Trockenelemente, deren Depolarisationsmasse in geeigneter Weise mit Kalkstickkohle vermischt ist, nicht allein eine weit höhere Leistungsfähigkeit aufweisen, als mit den genannten Graphitsorten hergestellte, sondern, dass auch im Verhältnis zu diesen Stoffen eine beträchtlich geringere Menge Kohle genügt, um die gesteigerte Wirkung zu erzielen. Selbstverständlich kann die Kohle auch im Gemisch mit Graphit zur Anwendung kommen.

   It has been found that the carbon contained in calcium cyanamide can be used with excellent success for the production of electrically conductive parts of galvanic elements, in particular also of dry elements. For practical reasons, it is advisable not to extract the coal from calcium cyanamide, but rather from the sludge-like residues that remain when processing calcium cyanamide on nitrogen-containing bodies such as dicyandiamide, ammonia, etc. The coal that is used according to the invention is separated from these residues, which essentially contain quicklime or carbonate of lime, but also considerable amounts of coal.



   The coal separated from calcium cyanamide or, more appropriately, from the processing residues thereof, not only exceeds by far the yield of natural graphite, but surprisingly also the best artificial graphite. It was found that dry elements, the depolarization mass of which is appropriately mixed with calcium carbonate, not only have a much higher performance than those produced with the types of graphite mentioned, but that a considerably smaller amount of carbon in relation to these substances is sufficient to remove the to achieve increased impact. Of course, the carbon can also be used in a mixture with graphite.
