  Peening machine.

The subject matter of the invention relates to peening machines, in particular those which have, in a known manner, a tail hammer operated by a rotating thumb or the like, the stroke of which can also be regulated, as is no longer new. The invention features that stand out particularly
 EMI1.1
stroke the driving thumb at its distance from its drive shaft around which it rotates. is adjustable and also consist of a grinding device for scythes, sickles, mowing knives and. Like. As those on peening machines are already known per se. According to the invention, this Sehleifvorriehtung can be pivoted into the position of use about the thumb shaft, receives the drive from it and, moreover, can be displaced and locked longitudinally on it.

Further devices according to the present invention, which are applicable to all peening machines with a tail hammer, but also to machines where the hammer swings around a horizontal axis at all, concern the attachment of the hammer to the hammer handle and the adjustability of the peening rod in height and from and to the swing axis of the hammer.

The drawing illustrates in FIGS. 1 and 2 the subject matter of the invention in side view and top view and in FIG. 3 a modified embodiment of the same in side view. The Fig. 4-lui
 EMI1.2

In the frame 1 of the machine, a shaft 2 is mounted on which a Sehnurseheibe 7 designed as a flywheel sits, which is driven by means of the connecting rod -1, which acts eccentrically at 3, and by a foot step 6 pivoted about 5. A tendon disk 10 mounted on the table 9 is driven by a cord 8 or the like. This is connected to a disk 11 and sits on the shaft 12, which in turn is mounted in bearings 1 :) fastened on the table 9.

An eccentrically extending thumb 1-5 is pivotably mounted on the disk 11 by means of the bolt 14, the free end of which has an elongated slot 16 through which the bolt 17 ′, which can be inserted and locked in an almost radial slot 17 of the disk 11, passes. The thumb 15 fastened in this way acts as it rotates on the tail end jfss, equipped with a roller 18, of a tail hammer handle 21 which can swing about a horizontal axis 20 and has a second arm 22 directed parallel to the tail end 19. The visual swing axis 20 is mounted in a bearing block 23 which is attached to the table 9
 EMI1.3
On its upper part, the spring carries a spring plate 26, in whose bearing cup the tip of one in the arm 2:! screwable adjusting screw 27 is seated.

The flanged end 28 of the hammer handle 21 has a transverse standing on its end face. wedge-like extension 29 and on both sides of the same two lateral tabs 30, between which the hammer head 31 is inserted. This has in the middle on the one hand a recess matching the extension 29, on the other hand a groove parallel to this, in which the web of a fastening bracket 32 is inserted, the legs of which encompass the hammer head on both sides and end in screws which connect the

 like abutment press.

The Dengelstoek 33 has a cylindrical central part 85 provided with a lateral guide nose 34 and a screw neck 36. The lower part 35 is in the upper part 37 'of a sleeve 37,

is adjustable in height. A spiral spring 46 is installed in a bore of the same, which is supported on the one hand against the bushing 43 and on the other hand against a nut 46 that engages in the bore and is screwed onto the screw neck 36 and thereby pulls the peg stick secured against rotation against the vertically adjustable bushing 43.

An annular recess is provided on the pestle stick, into which a clamping ring 48 with a clamping screw 49 can be rotated and locked.
 EMI2.2
of the workpiece to be pounded.

The circumferential thumb 15 lifts the tail hammer 21, 31. which falls by its own weight and under the action of the spring 25, which is tensioned here, on the workpiece lying on the peening stick 33. The stroke and the impact strength of the hammer are adjusted by adjusting the thumb 15 on the disc 11 and by adjusting the pressure on the spring 2.? acting adjusting screw 87 regulated. Likewise, by means of the device described, the Dengelstoek can be adjusted both in terms of height and from and to the swing axis 20 of the hammer. Finally, the hammer head can 3j! used the other way round and the guide mandrel 50 adjusted accordingly.

Instead of the thumb, a nearly radial slot can be found on the disk 11. 51, the bearing pin 52 of a roller 53 can be inserted in a displaceable and lockable manner (FIG. 3), through the adjustment of which the lifting height and thus the striking effect of the peening hammer can be regulated at will.

In the embodiment of the peening machine shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, the disk 11 carrying the thumb 16 is designed as a spur gear 55. On both sides of the outer bearing 13 ', the bearing eyes 56 of a swingable sliding device 57 sit loosely on the driven shaft 12, the distance from one another by the width of the spur gear 55 being greater than the width of the bearing 18'- enclosed by them. This means that the grinding device can be displaced by the width of the spur gear 55 along the shaft 12. In the device, an axis 58 parallel to the shaft Z3 is rotatably mounted in bearings 59, between which bearings the selileif disc 60, which is used for grinding mower knives, for example and which slopes conically on both sides, is wedged.

A small spur gear 61 is mounted on the shaft 58 on the end portion facing the face gear 55. A hand lever 64 fastened to the grinding device and equipped on the one hand with a handle 62 and on the other hand with a adjustable lifting weight 63 is releasably connected to the crank pin 8 by means of an articulated push rod 65.

Arranged on the underside of the grinding device is an arm 66 which, when the lowest position of the pivoting path of the grinding device for the use position is reached, rests against the bearing block 13 ′ and supports the device in this position. For the purpose of locking the grinding device in the use position (i.e. in the position shown in Fig. 5 in which, as a result of the displacement of the device along the shaft 12, the spur gear 61 is fully engaged with the spur gear 55) and in the rest position (i.e.

   H. in the position in which the spur gear 61 is out of engagement with the spur gear 55 due to lateral displacement of the device), two transverse grooves 67, 68 are turned on the shaft 12, which are spaced from each other by the width of the spur gear and in one of them, depending on the position of the grinding device, a resilient snapper 69 intervenes alternately (FIG. 6). Instead of the dismantled
 EMI2.3
knife 71 attached to the table 9 and when hanging the push rod 65 in the crank 3 of the drive shaft S 2, the grinding device for grinding the knife 71 can be used.

In the present case, the use of the peening machine is only permitted with disengaged, i.e. H. Laterally shifted grinding device possible. For the purpose of grinding hammered scythes and sickles
 EMI2.4
of the thrust weight 63 in the rest position shown in dash-dotted lines is laterally displaced by means of the hand lever 64 until the spur gear 61 meshes with the spur gear 55, the snapper 69 falling into the groove 68. The machine is activated by stepping on it with the foot; the spur gear 55 will initially take the spur gear 61 with it and thus pivot the grinding device until the arm 66 hits the bearing block 13 ′ and the device is thereby fixed.

The further rotation of the spur gear 55 will cause the wheel 61 to roll and thus the grinding wheel 60 to rotate.

For the purpose of grinding a mower blade, the bearing block 23 together with the tail hammer is removed from the table and replaced by the clamping abutment 70. When grinding the mower
 EMI2.5
Lever 64 carried out by hand or it is connected to the drive shaft 3 by means of the push rod 65 and worked with foot and hand at the same time, which makes the work easier.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

Of course, this machine can be designed in such a way that it is not necessary to remove the bearing block for the purpose of grinding the mower knife, so that the peening machine, as is the case when grinding scythes and sickles, is left in the same state and only the coupling of the different use organs and the decoupling of the machine parts not in use is necessary.
