   Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren, welches eine Tonverbesserung bei Holzresonanzinstrumenten, und vorzüglicherweise bei denen, deren Deckel im Sinne des österreichischen Patents Nr. 86317 verfertigt ist, bewirken soll. 



   Das Verfahren besteht darin, dass die Geigendecke in Heissluft bis zu einem gewissen Grade ausgetrocknet wird, um sämtliche fremde, die Resonanz schädlich beeinflussenden Bestandteile zu beseitigen. 



  Die in dieser Weise behandelte Geigendecke gibt einen besonders angenehmen, metallenen Klang.
