Am äusseren Ende der Räume q, zweckmässig in der Deckplatte r, können regelbare Löcher s für den Eintritt der Primärluft angebracht sein ; die Gasrohre sind mit Hähnen t versehen. Den Längskanälen p in den wagerechten Zwischenwänden b kann Sekundärluft. unter schwachem Druck zugeführt werden.
Wie ersichtlich ist, bilden die Luft-und Abgaszüge-Rekuperatoren und da diese auf beiden Seiten der Retortenreihe angeordnet sind, schützen sie die Retorten gegen übermässige Ausstrahlung. Infolge der Anordnung eines besonderen Brenners für jede Heizkammer findet die Verbrennung unmittelbar zwischen den Aussenflächen der Retorten statt und es wird somit die entwickelte Wärme unmittelbar auf die Retorten übertragen und gleichmässig verteilt.
