EMI2.1
When this value is reached and thus the full load capacity of the machine M, the current value is regulated by the load resistance 3, 4:
The control device on the test bench consists of an excitation winding 11 for each machine D, a control resistor for the excitation circuit 12 and the ammeter 20 in the excitation circuit, the contact lever 13 for changing the resistance 12 and for short-circuiting the contacts 24 in the standstill position. The contacts 24 are connected to the anchor terminals of the machines D. so that the armature winding of the brake dynamo is bridged by its short circuit.
The shift lever 13 is rigidly connected to the shift lever 16 and the locking disk 17; the switching lever 16 changes a series resistor in the circuit of the voltmeter 19, which is connected to the terminals of the machine D 'to be braked and indicates the number of revolutions of this machine. Since the voltage of this machine is dependent on the number of revolutions as well as the excitation value, the change in the excitation value simultaneously influences the voltage value supplied to the voltmeter so that the number of revolutions of the machine can be read directly from the voltmeter.
A pawl engages in the ratchet wheel 17, which is controlled by the zero-voltage magnet. 18 or by hand
EMI2.2
The two levers M,; M by the spring Min, the initial position in which the contact 24 is short-circuited, returned. In the armature circuit of the brake dynamo, an ammeter 21 is switched on to assess the braking torque of each machine. At most, the coil system of the ammeter 21 can be connected to that of the ammeter 20 in such a way that the braking torque of the load dynamo D is indicated directly by indicating a single pointer.
In the feed line of the excitation circuits there is also an outside switch 22 which, in the event of a significant deviation from the normal armature current in the machines D, which is generated by the control devices 2-j!
EMI2.3
The brake dynamo D can be switched off. Appropriately, a shutdown of Kraftmittelzufulr to the motors of the individual test stands and a return of the contact lever 5 to the off position (zero excitation), z. B. by a magnetically releasable freewheel
EMI2.4
In the event of irregularities in the automatic control device or in the individual machines, other known auxiliary devices can also be used.
The mode of operation of the device described is as follows: The machine M is first brought up to the full number of revolutions, e.g. B. by starting it by means of the generator G, which can be a synchronous generator, for example, or by coupling it to a special drive motor for this purpose. The contact lever 5 is in the zero excitation position so that the machine M does not supply any voltage. The machine job is then fully excited and supplies voltage to the busbars. The individual dynamos of the test stands are short-circuited by the contacts 24 and are also not energized, since the exciter resistor 12 is switched off when the contact 24 is short-circuited.
If the drive motor B is to be tested, it is connected to the dynamo of its test bench by an easily detachable coupling and started. By moving the control lever 13 to the left, the dynamo D is gradually loaded by gradually increasing its excitation. (In order to prevent switching on and off too quickly, the fluid brake M is provided). The positions of the lever 13 can be identified by a pointer, the scale of which can be calibrated directly according to torque values. The lever 18 is held in place by the lock 17 in the individual positions.
As the machine D is gradually excited, its voltage increases and it supplies voltage to the armature of the motor M. A current thus arises in the armature line, which causes the control device 10 to respond. This now adjusts the excitation resistance of the motor M in accordance with the increasing voltage of the brake dynamo D in such a way that the value of the armature current flowing through the machine D and the motor M remains the same. Since the excitation of the machine D is not changed either, a constant load on the motor to be tested is guaranteed for a torque that has been set once. The number of revolutions of the motor is set by changing the fuel supply, as indicated by the voltmeter 19.
The devices described thus ensure the most important requirement that test bench operation makes, namely easy setting of a specific and constant torque, while the number of revolutions to be regulated by the supply of fuel is easy to overlook.
Against faults caused by failure of the engine to be tested, e.g. B. seizure of a piston.
Disruptions in the regulation of the power supply, etc., could occur, the device is secured by the arrangement of the triggering and return device 14, 17, 18. B. the number of revolutions of the engine due to seizing of the piston, the same is initially the same as with the brake band

but he operates his setting lever 13 in the same way as described above and thereby switches his brake machine into the circuit of the other brake machines and the motor M and the automatic current control device 2-10 ensures that the voltage of the motor M by increasing the excitation in the Increased power supply is increased in a corresponding manner, whereby the torque output by the motor M also increases without its number of revolutions having to change.
As soon as a certain number of Bremsma'3chinen is switched into the circuit, the capacity of the motor M and the generator G driven by it will be exhausted; Nevertheless, of course, far more test stands can be equipped with their own brake machines must be available, since as a rule not all test stands will be fully loaded.

EMI3.3
If the machine M intended for the load on the test stands is able to take up, the arrangement is open in such a way that, after the capacity of the motor M has been exceeded, the excess power of the test stands is transferred to load resistances using the control devices provided for normal operation, but always with full utilization the recovery facility is guaranteed. For this purpose, the excitation control is followed by a load resistance

Fig. 2 can be connected in series with the motor B.
In this latter case, as can be seen from FIG. 2, the connection point e 30 of the main circuit to the series resistor 3 is bridged by a corresponding contact segment of the lever 5 as long as the not yet fully loaded motor M is exclusively during the movement of the lever 5 is regulated by changing the field exciter resistance 2; When the motor M is fully loaded, however, further movement of the lever 5 switches on more and more series resistance in the main circuit.
Of course, a fluid resistance can also be used as the load resistance, which can also be regulated by a special control device, which, however, is expediently connected to the control device for the excitation of the motor A1

The other's ability to change is exhausted.
With similar means, instead of switching on a load resistor, switching on a second load motor or load converter G can take place, which can be connected in parallel or in series with the first load motor.
This second load motor can be provided with special control devices or can be controlled by a continuous movement of the control devices of the load motor switched on before it. Two or more existing loading motors can be coupled together or used to drive the same loading machines together. Also, when the capacity of the network fed by the load motors by means of a load generator is reached, this generator can be switched over to load resistors or such can be switched on parallel to the load motors.
Instead of the above-mentioned electrical measuring device for determining the brake rotation

machines with spring support and Z3igeremrichtung can be used. In order to mitigate or compensate for the fluctuations in the released braking energy, known flywheel buffers or accumulator buffers can be associated with the load motors.
