Diese Vorrichtung besteht aus einer Trommel mit mehreren Flügeln t auf einer Welle   @,   die mittels eines Zahnrades i2 und eines auf    der Welle hl   der horizontalen   Transportvon1chtung   sitzenden Zahnrades h2 betätigt werden kann. Die Welle hl wird mit Hilfe der Schnecke h3 und des Schneckenrades   h4   in Umdrehung versetzt. Der Luftzutritt in den untern Teil des Ofens ist durch die Flügel der Trommel   i   verhindert.

   Der Koks rollt schliesslich über die Rutsche   i   ab.

PATENT CLAIM: Device for emptying continuously operating distillation furnaces with vertical retorts and with a swingable, two-part support grate for the loading, characterized in that this grate is arranged at the lower end of the furnace chamber laterally above a fixed, suitably trough-shaped base plate for the chamber and that between the grate and the base plate a horizontal conveying device is provided so that by opening the grate in certain periods of time the lower part of the furnace is released for the purpose of lowering the load to the bottom plate, but when closing the load of the material above the grate is kept from the conveying device goods contained between the grate and the base plate can be discharged in a horizontal direction.
