EMI1.1
Fischernetze), gelochte Bleche, Streckmetall usw.

Process for the recovery of volatile solvents in the manufacture of
Rubber, celluloid or similar products.
The method for recovering volatile solvents, which is the subject of the invention, consists in that the evolution and absorption of the vapors take place in the same space. The process is particularly suitable for the recovery of the solvent (e.g. gasoline) in the
EMI1.1
would. This strong dilution makes the recovery of the gasoline in special absorption devices so difficult that recovery of the solvent is almost universally dispensed with and the air containing gasoline is conveyed directly into the open by fans.
According to the new process, the absorbent (for gasoline e.g. paraffin oil) is brought into the drying room itself and distributed as evenly as possible over it. The simplest would be direct injection, similar to injection condensation in steam engine systems. However, the process has various shortcomings, namely because the excess of condensing agents is very large and the duration of the action of the solvent on the gas mixture is very short, and the apparatus and product are easily contaminated by sprayed and atomized solvents.
It is better to run the solvent along rods, threads, wires, fabrics, etc. along! to let. The flow rate of the solvent can then be adjusted by regulating the liquid flow and corresponding vertical, respectively. Adjust the inclined position of the guide body so that the absorption liquid arrives at the bottom (depending on the existing partial pressure or degree of saturation of the air) saturated with solvents. The following can be used as a connecting element for the absorbent: rods, threads, wires, wires in spiral spirals, wire mesh, wire mesh, coarse mesh or braids (e.g.
Fishing nets), perforated sheets, expanded metal, etc. In any case, the guide bodies must allow air movement as unhindered as possible. When using wires in helical form, the wires advantageously have a semicircular or square or flat cross-section so that the spirals can hold larger amounts of liquid. In an emergency, even if less effective, the walls of the drying room or even smooth or perforated partitions can be used as guide bodies.
The absorbent containing the solvent is freed from the solvent (gasoline, benzene or the like) in the customary manner by distillation and reused for absorption.
The present process is suitable for the recovery of very dilute vapors, e.g. B. at the
1. Manufacture of rubber objects from or using rubber solution, i.e. production of dipped rubber objects, fabrics impregnated with rubber solution, etc.
2. Manufacture of celluloid, cellon, gunpowder, etc. (recovery of alcohol, ether, acetone, vinegar ether, etc.)
Even if the vapors are not very dilute, this method can be used to advantage. In all cases, the process is characterized by low space requirements and simple equipment. The main value of the process always comes into its own when a valuable solvent is evaporated by excess air in a production process and is then to be recovered.
