Connection sleeve (coupling) for Yerbund conductor overhead line.
Composite conductors usually consist of a steel core, which is made up of several wires to form a rope, and also of an external, electrically better conductive metal covering such as copper.
Aluminum, bronze etc. Like. Which can be made of wires of various types, such as Rlmd-, wedge or Z-shaped.
The purpose of the present coupling is to grasp the composite metals mechanically on the one hand and electrically conductive on the other hand, completely securely and to prevent electrolytic effects.
The essence of the invention consists in the fact that the core of the composite conductor is mechanically held in place inside the connecting sleeve by means of inserted cones.
In the drawing, the steel cable core e is insured in the steel cone a by means of wedging or metal casting. The outer cover wires / lie on the one hand on the steel cone a, on the other hand they are held in place by the metal insert b. The latter consists of the same metal as the electrically conductive metal covering of the composite wire. In the case of aluminum, aluminum etc.
The wall thickness of the insert b is selected to be particularly strong, its end protrudes significantly beyond the outer sleeve d and guides the rope in a cylindrical, tube-like end, for the purpose of keeping away electrolytic effects between the rope and sleeve d.
The insert b is pressed into the metal sleeve d.
Both ends of the rope are gripped in the same way; the two coupling parts are screwed through a middle piece c with right and left threads. This center piece is hollow and can be potted with a waterproof compound with a high melting point to prevent moisture penetration.
A screw plug g prevents the potting compound from flowing out. After completion, the coupling is secured against unscrewing by means of rivets h. Parts d and c are made of the same material, preferably steel or bronze.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Connection sleeve (coupling) for composite conductor overhead line, characterized in that the electrically better conductive outer wire layers (f) are held within the connection sleeve (d) in conical inserts (b) made of the metal of these better conductive outer wire layers, which over the outer Connection sleeve (d) made of another metal protrude.
