Process for the impregnation of roll copier paper.

The subject matter of the present invention is a process for the impregnation of roll copier paper, the purpose of which is to dry it out in the pre-tempered Z; was to be avoided on the front side and at the same time to stiffen the paper in such a way that the thickness of the paper can go well below the previously known level.

This desired effect is achieved by soaking the paper at the edges with highly diluted solutions of water-repellent substances. For example, a solution of about 3-6% paraffin in carbon tetrachloride can be used.
 EMI1.1
Machines cannot be used at all because the rollers stick together, causing the paper to tear or malfunctions (free paper web sticking, resulting in crooked cutting, etc.). The edges become brittle, scrape and sciop off. Impregnation with molten or heated impregnation baths also creates the risk that the strength of the paper will suffer if the temperature is too high.

Oils and fats are also unsuitable for impregnating the edge of copier paper for the stated purpose, because they soften the paper fibers and thus tear them easily, which is a use-hindering result with an even thicker paper stock.
 EMI1.2
Impregnation compound is only applied to the paper as much as possible to prevent it from drying out without becoming brittle.
