Description

 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

In intermediate amplifier offices, the arrangement of the amplifiers has so far been such that they are always ready for operation, in that the heating current is continuously switched on, even if the intermediate amplifier circuit is not connected to a long-distance line. In addition to the useless consumption of heating current caused by this arrangement, the tubes are subject to constant stress on the filament in relation to time. Whatever the time they are in the company, they wear out quickly and have to be replaced by new ones. According to the invention, these inconveniences are eliminated in that the heating current is usually interrupted and only closed when a long-distance line is blocked.

This can be achieved in a number of ways. It can x. B. a relay in a local circuit to be closed by the plug, which closes a contact in the heating circuit when it is energized. The plug can, however, also be designed in such a way that it immediately closes the breaker contact in the heating circuit when the long-distance line is plugged. You can also connect the heating circuit to a third spring of the pawl and a corresponding contact of the plug, so that the heating circuit is closed via the plugged pawl.

An embodiment of the invention in which the heating circuit is closed by means of a relay is illustrated in the drawing.

In the circuit diagram, V, 1'1 denote the two amplifiers of an intermediate amplifier circuit, F1 a long-distance line. Kr the long-distance line jack, St the plug for connecting the long-distance line Fi to the amplifier circuit and K the artificial line belonging to the long-distance line Fi. The heating circuit runs from the battery B via the filaments f1, f2 back to the battery. According to the invention, a contact c is switched on in this circuit, which contact is open when the amplifier circuit is not used, so that no heating current flows.

A relay R is located on a contact spring 3 of the teleline latch. This contact spring corresponds to a contact pin-y. which lies on the ground, on the plug, S '/. With this arrangement, when the trunk line Fj is plugged in, the relay R speaks through ground. Battery B1, relay R, contact spring 3, plug contact 3 'and earth and closes the heating circuit via contact c so that the amplifier tubes are operational.

The relay R could at the same time serve to switch on the associated artificial line K when the trunk line is plugged, as described in patent no. 93904.
