Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

    Verfahren zur Veredlung von Aldehydharzen.
 EMI1.1

 EMI2.1

 EMI2.1
wise linseed oil, add. The resins obtained by the present process dissolve easily in fatty oils, and there is therefore no need for prolonged heating in linseed oil when they are processed into oil varnishes, as is suggested in Swiss Patent No. 89243. For many purposes, the repeated, special melting of the resin can be avoided. The resin separated from the liquid can also be brought into solution directly in suitable solvents.

In the case of low-boiling solvents such as alcohol, benzene, etc., the suction-filtered resin is expediently predried, in the case of high-boiling solvents such as linseed oil, wood oil
 EMI2.2
Acetone etc. excellent for the production of paints, impregnation agents, polishes, etc. Like., Due to their good solubility in fatty oils, z. B. linseed oil also especially for oil varnish and oil paint production. The resins are largely temperature-resistant and can therefore also be used as a protective coating on radiators, boilers, etc. Due to these properties, they represent a high-quality substitute for optical lacquer, copal, amber and other natural resins.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Velfahren for refining aldehyde resins, characterized in that the products obtained at a reaction temperature above 30 condensation or polymerization of aldehydes are dissolved in a suitable solvent before or after their conversion into hard resins and they precipitate out of the solution.

   2. A process for upgrading aldehyde resins, characterized in that the resins obtained at a condensation or polymerization of aldehydes which are driven above 300 realdione temperature are subjected to a treatment with water, advantageously in the presence of columns and finely divided.

Claims (1)

EMI2.3 3. The method according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that the resins are then heated to a higher temperature. EMI2.3
