  Procedure for repairing faulty buses.

The invention relates to a method for repairing defective cast pieces in order to avoid the previously extremely large loss of cast due to the formation of pores and other cavities. In particular, the method should relate to the casting of machine cylinders.

The purpose of the invention is to provide a method for filling the casting cavities in which the

and have been treated with acid and flux, according to the invention are filled with the filling material in the cold state, whereupon the filling is locally heated up to the melt flow and subjected to a pressing and rubbing effect during the heating and in the molten state.

The only filling material to be considered here is one that, if used in a suitable manner, is firmly incorporated into the casting so that it can be exposed to any practically occurring degree of heating without the filling being damaged or worn off during use.
 EMI1.2

When using the method according to the invention, the following procedure is followed: If the casting proves to be faulty in that it contains one or more cavities or pores, these cavities or pores must first be thoroughly removed from the outer metallic crust and any other foreign matter that is trapped therein could be liberated. For this purpose, the use of a. Chisels or Aufreibers suggested u. between. Preferably one with a mechanical drive.

to allow the necessary angles for the work. The walls of the cavities or pores are now treated with a suitable acid, such as. B.

Hydrochloric acid and zinc mixed with ammonia, treated to destroy all oxide compounds and thus the adhesion of the metallic ones to be applied
