Die Befestigung der Halteplatten an der tragenden Wand od. dgl. ist allerdings bisher recht aufwendig und mühsam, da die Platten selbst mittels eigener Montageleisten, also spezieller Schablonen zum Setzen der Bohrlöcher für die Befestigungsschrauben, montiert werden müssen. Außerdem ist es schwierig, diese Befestigungsbeschläge zur Befestigung von Sockelleisten od. dgl. im richtigen, auf die jeweilige Leiste abgestimmten Abstand oberhalb des Fußbodens anzuordnen, was ein oft zeitraubendes Messen verlangt und wegen der vorhandenen Dehnungsfugen zwischen Wand und Boden oft ungenau bleibt. Geichzeitig mit seiner Funktion als Montageanschlag dient der Fuß aber auch durch seine den Dehnungsspait überbrückende Auslage als Kabelträger, was auch bei Vorhandensein einer Dehnfuge ein einwandfreies und gefahrloses Kabelverlegen hinter den Abdeckleisten erlaubt.
