 EMI1.1

 EMI1.2

daily expansion of the fuel compressed in the line and as a result of the elastic contraction of the line itself. According to the invention it is now ensured that the pressure in the line is removed immediately after the pressure stroke of the pump, u. between. this happens because a
 EMI1.3
To prevent machine lying warm line part, this part is kept under pressure in that a check valve that opens in the sense of the atomizer is arranged between the atomizer valve and the pressure valve of the pump.

In the known devices of this type, it has already been proposed to arrange a check valve in the line connecting the pump to the working cylinder. However, these known devices do not aim to relax the fuel remaining in the non-return line after injection, a part of which is enclosed under very high pressure in order to avoid the formation of steam.

The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the invention. Fig. 1 shows in section an injection pump and Fig. La the upper part of the combustion chamber of a machine set up according to the invention. 2 and 3 are individual representations of the pressure valve in side and front view, which is provided with a groove according to the invention. Fig. 4 is a horizontal section of the pump body through the axis of the pressure valve and shows another embodiment of the invention. Fig. 5 shows in section a modified embodiment of the check valve seated on the nebulizer. a designates the pump chamber and b the housing.

As is known, in this type of liquid fuel injector, the pump piston delivers c when the piston of the engine
 EMI1.4
the desired amount of fuel which, after passing through the pressure valve 6 of the pump, lifts the automatic valve 7 which forms the essential part of the atomizer e. The fuel thus penetrates into the combustion chamber f of the cylinder in which at that moment there is a strong pressure. Between the pump and the atomizer there is necessarily a sufficiently long pipe 4, the volume of which is considerable in relation to the volume of a fuel charge. As weak as the compressibility of the liquid may be, because of this disproportion it gains a meaning which is by no means negligible.

   It follows that the injection,
 EMI1.5
stroke is extended because the liquid compressed in the tube also expands as the pressure in the cylinder decreases. The fuel introduced in this way is very poorly utilized as a result.

 is ordered.

Since the fuel next to the atomizer is now temporarily heated, there is a risk of steam formation in this part of the line if the fuel is not under pressure

 EMI2.3

avoid. It is also necessary that the air is completely expelled from the line when the machine is started. This must be done by driving the pump by hand, for example, and expelling air and fuel at the end of the line.

If the connection causal 5 in valve 6 were to have too large a cross-section, the clean air and fuel would
 EMI2.5
through the air and fuel without any back pressure other than that of the liquid level. X can exit. If you want to avoid this auxiliary outlet, you have to make the connecting opening 5 lockable during the start-up.

This is done by the embodiment shown in Fig. 4,

denote educational leadership. 24 and 25 are two small holes which are as small as the practical implementation conditions allow and which connect the cylinder to the pressure side, the hole 25 opening behind the valve 22. 26 is a screw needle by means of which the hole 24 is closed
 EMI2.7
 button of the needle.

The mode of operation of this arrangement is as follows: The perforated nut 9 on the atomizer remains closed and does not need to be perforated. The valve needle 26 is closed. The pump can then be turned by hand or in some other way and it works as if the holes 21 and 25 were not present. Under these conditions, the machine can be started and the valve needle 26 can only be opened after the machine has been running for a few moments, in order to be sure that the tube 4 is completely free of air.

It should be noted that the valve needle 26 does not only open and close the channels 24
 EMI2.8
given and also has to be quite small for the following reason. At the moment when the suction valve 3 opens, which takes place mechanically from bottom to top, the valve head causes a slight negative pressure in the pump body when it is moved. This could result in the formation of gas bubbles. These gas bubbles are then driven out again by the closing movement of the valve, for which purpose it is necessary that they are located in the upper part.

The small size of the connection, be it through the groove 5 or through the valve 26, now prevents the negative pressure from the pump chamber from being able to continue into the pipeline. So there is no reason that gas bubbles could form in the pipeline:
It has already been pointed out earlier that it is important to eliminate the small loss resulting from the pressure that exists at the end of the injection in the space 8, the latter between the atomizing valve 7 and the check valve 2. This loss can practically be traced back to approximately% to 1% of the consumption on a full charge.

In the case of the small machines, considering the difficulties in implementing the arrangement and

line 24, 25 to be equipped, because the valve 12 ensures the expansion of the fuel in the line 4 after the injection, u. depending on the tension difference between the springs of valve 1 and valve 12. Thus, this device works in the same way as that described first.
