Counter for cigarettes and bodies of the same shape.
In the case of the mechanical mass production of cigarettes and similarly shaped bodies, it is necessary to count them because of the similar packaging, which was previously carried out partly manually and partly by machine; in the former case it required too much labor, in the latter it often led to inadequacies; because the counting devices known so far did not always adequately meet the requirements.
The present invention aims at securing the cigarettes or similar bodies in a specific,

management of the counting apparatus shown. 1 illustrates the front view, FIG. 2 the side view, FIG. 3 on a larger scale the side view of the actuation of the counting wheel, FIG. 4 the same in the front view.
The cigarettes coming from the storage belts 1 of the cigarette machine slide on the feed plate 2 to the cigarette drum J, which is provided with receiving grooves for the cigarettes, which is rotated by the drive 4 and the pair of wheels 5 and 6 in the direction of the arrow and which is inserted into the Takes rolled cigarettes with them.
However, since it can happen that two cigarettes are taken along by a receiving groove, if the same only partially entered the receiving groove, a rotating brush 7 is arranged above the cigarette drum 3, which is driven by the gear wheel 6 through the pair of wheels 8 and 9 and which Brushes protruding cigarettes so that each receiving groove either contains just one cigarette or is empty. The cigarette drum 3 is fastened to the shaft 10 on the right (FIG. 2) through the end wall, but is open on the left and has an edge on the inside on the left (FIG. 3) in which a filling groove is provided for each receiving groove.

touching part of the foot lift. H can lay on the cigarette or step further through it.
When the cigarette drum 3 is rotated upwards, the switching pins slide. 12 the feeler lever 11 on the inside of the fixed guide curve 14 so that the cigarettes can enter the receiving grooves because the arms of the feeler levers facing the cigarettes do not protrude into the groove space. If the cigarette drum 3 rotates so far that the switching pins 12 of the feeler levers 11 leave the fixed curve 14, the associated receiving groove has already stepped under the guide plate 16 and the feeler lever, actuated by its spring, either touches the cigarette, or if none is contained in the groove, the feeler lever enters the groove space itself through the opening 13.
In the first case, as the cigarette drum continues to rotate, the switching pin 12 is guided by the fixed guide curve 16 (FIGS. 1 and 4) on the inside, in the second case on the outside, as shown in a and b in FIG. 1 and in FIG Figure 4 is illustrated. As the drum continues to rotate, which switch pins go on the outside of the curve? slide past the counting wheel 17 without touching it, while those switching pins 12, which slide on the inside of the curve 16, whose groove thus contains a cigarette, turn the counting wheel 17 by one tooth, so that in this way only the cigarettes present are counted.
As the cigarette drum continues to rotate, the filling levers with their counting pins leave the fixed curve 16 and are directed to the inside of the fixed curve 14 so that the cigarettes can re-enter the grooves as the rotation continues. The counting wheel 17 actuates the counting mechanism wheels 18, which are selected in their translation according to the desired amount of cigarettes to be counted, for example for 100 pieces. There ? Leadership-sbJech 16 only extends so far that the cigarette, its switching pin
