  Allwetterkarosserie.

    Das Klappverdeck besteht aus mehreren, z. B. fünf übereinander klappbaren Teilen 1, 2, 3,4, 5, von welchen der eine Teil 2 mittels Gelenkstücken 6 und 7 mit dem Hauptstützbogen 1 verbunden ist,

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Fig. 2).

  All-weather body.

   The roofs or folding tops that are customary for normal open bodies are always wider than the body, so that the verde arches over which the top material is stretched and whose clear width is greater than the width of the body, in the folded down position, encompass or surround the body from the outside. can enclose, while the body side walls lie within the convertible top arch. With the so-called all-weather bodies, which look like a normal when the roof is closed
 EMI1.1
 wider than the body; the main supporting arches and the other arches of the convertible top with the windows must therefore form the continuation of the side line of the side walls and must not protrude from their plane.

   When opening such an all-weather body, the inconvenience arises that the main support arch of the top with the turned-back parts of the top is above the side or top.

  Side walls of the body or on these walls, whereby the appearance of the car is impaired insofar as the pleasing shape of the body is lost, apart from the fact that in these cases the top fabric also restricts the seat space. The folded top of an all-weather body has the disadvantage compared to the folded top of an open body that the attachment of a cover (roof cap), through which the folded roof can be protected from dirt, is not easily possible and at least not in a pleasing form, which does not disturb the appearance of the car.

   The subject of the invention is an all-weather body which, when open, has the appearance or the shape of a normal open car. Essentially, the invention consists in the fact that the main support arch of the top is set up in such a way that it forms the continuation of the side walls in the closed state of the body, and in the open state, similar to the top arch of an ordinary open body, outside the side or. Side walls of the body lies. According to the invention, this is achieved by a support arch, the clear width of which can be correspondingly widened by spreading so that the clear width of the main support arch corresponds to the body width in the closed state, but is greater than the width of the body in the open state.

   An embodiment of the main supporting arch is expedient in which the pivoting of the arch is connected to a forced spreading movement. Such a compulsory spreading movement is easily produced, e.g. B. by an articulated bow which is guided in its bearing bush in a screw groove, whereby the rotation of the bolt is combined with an axial displacement and the axial movement can be used to induce a spreading movement of the support arch.

   The rigidity of the body despite the use of a resilient or. Spreadable support arch for the top is achieved in that the top is supported by a front wall window resting on the edge of the front wall and by side windows resting on the edge of the side walls, and thereby forms a rigid system with the front wall and the side walls, in which the front wall window is combined with the side windows to form a three-sash sliding window that can be lowered behind the front wall.

   An exemplary embodiment according to the invention is illustrated in the drawing.

    The folding top consists of several, z. B. five foldable parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, of which one part 2 is connected to the main support arch 1 by means of joint pieces 6 and 7,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 while the part 3 can be folded over the part 2, which latter can be placed in the plane of the main supporting arch 1 (see Fig. 2). The main support arch 1 is designed as a resilient or spreadable bracket, which in the closed state of the body forms the continuation of the side walls or does not protrude outwardly with respect to them. The joints 8, 8 of the main supporting arch 1 are set up so that the rotation of the bracket (see Fig.

   Arrow direction Fig. 4) when opening the body a spreading of the bracket in such a way

 nut a bolt a guided by the bearing bushing b in such a way that when the bolt is rotated, it experiences an axial displacement through which the main support arch is spread so that its clear width is greater than the width of the body.

   To support the folding top when the body is closed, a front wall window 9 and two opposing side windows 10 are used, which are combined to form a three-sash window such that the side windows can be folded behind the front wall window.

   The arrangement of these windows is such that the front wall window 9 rests on the edge of the front wall 13, while the side windows 10 rest on the upper edge of the body side walls, so that the folding top together with the front wall and side wall windows form a rigid system Individual parts can be combined into a rigid unit by appropriate connecting means 15 (screws or the like) or connecting means 16 (viewing hoods or the like) arranged between the windows and the side walls of the body, in particular between the windows and the top.

   The three-sash window 9, 10, 10 is designed as a sliding window that the window part 9 forming the front wall window behind which the side windows 10 are folded, behind the front

The entry doors 12 carry retractable windows 11, for which the guide rails or the stop are on the one hand from the frame strip of the side windows 10, on the other hand from the main supporting arch. ? are formed. The raised windows 11 can be fixed by screws 16 or the like, so that they form a solid glass wall together with the three-sash window, so that by loosening the connecting means.

   M the convertible top can be pulled back by itself and can only be driven with the windows raised, this glass wall being able to protect the driver from the air flow. When the top is opened over this glass wall, it is easy to seal it completely.

   When the body is open (see Fig. 2), the windows 11 are sunk into the doors and the windows 9, 10, 10 behind the front wall, while the folding top, as in a normal open body, is outside the side walls, and in this state can be covered with a roof cap in the manner known for open bodies.
