Process for the extraction and purification of wax.

In order to melt the pure wax out of the raw wax, the previous procedure was that the raw wax was melted by boiling water or by steam or finally by the heat of the sun or obtained with chemicals. The former of the processes mentioned is carried out in open containers, which creates a risk of fire; in the second method, the closed containers are under steam pressure, which creates the risk of explosion and fire. In both processes, the residues burn on, which gives the wax produced a bad smell and taste, and also a discoloration.

The third method is unprofitable because of the poor evaluation of the raw material and the great dependence on the sun.

The subject of the invention avoids all of these inconveniences. His essence is known through

the process becomes simpler and less dangerous. Any heat source, such as wood, coal, coke, gas or electric firing (electrical radiators) and the like can be used to heat the air. dg]., serve. The arrangement is made in such a way that the hot air sweeps over the raw wax and causes it to melt.

In this way, wax of excellent quality with all natural properties, such as natural color, natural smell and taste and great suppleness, is obtained without the use of chemicals.
 EMI1.2
Kind shown in drawing, u. FIG. 1 shows an apparatus that allows the method to be carried out using any heated herds or electrical heating and is particularly suitable for beekeepers and smaller wax-making businesses. For example, FIG. 2 shows the invention combined with the pressing out of the melted raw wax.

In FIG. 1, 1 designates a chamber, preferably of rectangular cross section, which can at most be provided with a bottom. In the lid of the chamber, which is removable, there can be a double window for observing what is going on inside. A side wall of the chamber is provided with an opening through which the discharge pipe for the molten wax emerges. In the chamber, a sheet metal tub 4 is held in an inclined position by supports J, which is provided with a support plate 5 which is intended to hold the raw wax 6 in the highest part of the tub. This support plate is provided with openings through which the melted wax can pass in order to flow on via the inclined bottom of the trough provided with grooves 7 and to reach the container 9 through the pipe 8.

The hot air heating of the wax comes about by placing the chamber 1 on the heated plate of an oven (stove) or gas stove, so that the hot air rising from the plate fills the entire space of the chamber 1 and strokes the raw wax and the melting process of
 EMI1.3
Don't come into contact yourself, just be surrounded by hot air. Heating by means of an electric current has proven to be particularly advantageous in this apparatus.

In Fig. 1, a modification of the apparatus is indicated, for example, in dashed lines, which consists in that in the lower part of the chamber 1, an electrical heating element 10 is installed, to which current is supplied through the contact 11. For smaller devices of this type, it is sufficient to connect the radiator to an ordinary light pipe. since in this case the power consumption is lower than that required for an incandescent lamp of medium power consumption, the apparatus is more satisfactory
