Abstract

The appliance serves for generating and/or storing hot water and consists of a pressurized tank 1 which is closed on all sides and which has at least one water inflow 7 and one water outflow 8 and also a heat source 6 serving for heating the water. Within the tank 1 is provided a pressurized concertina 14 made of deformable material. The concertina 14 is filled with air. The volume of the air-filled concertina 14, which is under the external pressure of the cold water, is greater than the change in volume of the water quantity received by the tank 1, in the case of a temperature rise of up to approximately 70 to 80 degree Celsius. The concertina 14 is accommodated in a grid-like or basket-like container 13. The concertina 14 is designed as a bag, the edge of which rests or bears on an annular flange 10 of an orifice 9 of the tank, the said annular flange being provided in the upper region of the tank 1.
