Abstract

The invention relates to a hook for connecting a ladder or the like to a roof. The hook is shaped from a flat bar and possesses an eye 6 in its part facing the roof and located on the ridge side of the hook vertex, and a multiple eye 9 in the freely projecting portion facing away from the roof. Both multiple eyes 9 are formed by recesses running in the longitudinal direction of the hook and by bending out one or more strips 10-12 located next to these recesses. The eye 6 located on the ridge side of the hook vertex serves for connecting a snap hook of a retaining rope or for holding a rod 13 inserted through a plurality of rows of aligned eyes 6, as a movable stop for rope securing means or as a snow-guard rod. The multiple eye 9 likewise serves, in conjunction with other aligned multiple eyes 9, for holding a snow-guard rod 13 or for suspending tie rods 18 for roof protection walls. In addition, the hook with its multiple eye 9, constructed in the freely projecting portion and being broad owing to the laterally bent-out edge strips 11, 12, serves as a very effective snow trap. <IMAGE>
