Abstract

The invention relates to a lever fastener for locking swing-down tailboards of commercial vehicles, having a hand lever (15), which is mounted pivotably on a baseplate (11) attached to the tailboard (16) and which has a fastening hook (17) engaging into a lug (18) provided on an adjacent tailboard. There are, furthermore, bolt means which, in their locking position, prevent the hand lever from opening and, in their release position, allow the hand lever to be opened. For this purpose, there is arranged on the hand lever (15) a resilient bolt member (23) which, in its locking position, bears against the fastening hook (17) under resilient prestress and, in its release position, is held in its open position by means of a catch device provided on the hand lever (15) or on the baseplate (11). To release the bolt member (23), there are on the baseplate (11) control means (27) which, during the pivoting of the hand lever, free the bolt member automatically from the catch device for its return into its locking position. <IMAGE>
