Abstract

The table tennis bat has differently shaped grip shells (14, 16), by which the forehand and backhand sides of the blade (10) are defined. In contrast to known anatomical grips, however, the grip shells (14, 16) have very simple geometrical shapes. With the grip shaped, in the central region, substantially symmetrically to the medium lengthwise axis, the grip shell (16) on the backhand side is designed with an approximately uniform thickness up to its leading edge (22). It also extends beyond the forward-chamfered front end of the grip shell (14) on the forehand side. In order nevertheless to be able to attach coverings of equal size on both sides of the blade, the front region of the grip shell (16) on the backhand side is undercut. <IMAGE>
