Abstract

A collector (1) for animal excrement is proposed, in which a gripper-shaped or shovel-shaped holding device (5) for a collecting bag (15) can be extended from an outer tube (2). By extending an intermediate pipe (3), the splayed elements (6) of the holding device (5) are brought together and the animal excrement is grasped. The tubes can in this connection have a round or angular cross-section. A catch device (8, 9, 10) can be provided, which can be actuated from outside and fixes the intermediate tube (3) in an intermediate position, in which the intermediate tube (3) projects partially from the outer pipe (2) and in which the holding device (5) is at least partially pushed together in relation to its splayed position by the intermediate tube (3).
