Abstract

An apparatus (10) for applying an embossed sheet replica to a flexible web of material is described, having a heatable embossing roll (12) and at least one pressing roller (24), by means of which embossed sheet and web of material can be pressed against each other and against the surface (44) of the embossing roll (12). For defined setting of the distance of the corresponding pressing roller (24) in relation to the surface (44) of the embossing roll (12) and consequently for defined setting of the pressure exerted by the pressing roller (24) on the embossed sheet and the web of material, the/each pressing roller (24) is provided with a setting device (32).
