Abstract

The invention relates to a crate for transporting articles (6) of substantially cylindrical cross-sectional shape, such as bottles, cans or the like, whose interior has rows of columns (12) which are fixed to the crate bottom in the gap between a plurality of insertion places. The object of the present invention is to provide a crate for transporting articles of substantially cylindrical cross-sectional shape, in which the bottle insertion places are arranged very closely adjacently and into which crate the bottles are easily guided by columns with their upper roof-shaped end towards the bottle insertion places provided when sliding in. The invention consists in the fact that the columns (12) are of dumbbell-shape in cross-section, that the longitudinal axes (18) of the column cross-sections run obliquely relative to the side walls of the crate, that the columns are arranged in straight rows running perpendicular to one another, and that the columns have the same oblique position in one row direction and have an oblique position with an alternating direction of the longitudinal axis in the other row direction. <IMAGE>
