Abstract

The invention relates to a bullet catcher material containing at least one thermoplastic organic polymer and at least one synthetic resin with an average molecular weight of 200 to 3000 or a natural resin or a derivative thereof, the weight ratio of thermoplastic polymer to synthetic or natural resin being 1:10 to 10:1. The bullet catcher material according to the invention is suitable for producing bullet catcher devices and has an advantageous brittle fracture behaviour during penetration and piercing by bullets, high stability and a high service life. In addition, under bullet impact, it emits no substances hazardous to health.
