Abstract

The dosing pump has a pump chamber with a volume which is enlarged during the suction stroke and reduced during the compression stroke, with a venting valve (17, 18) at the upper end of the pump chamber. The response characteristics of the venting valve are dependent on the aggregate characteristics of the dosed medium. The venting value is preceded by a back-feed prevention valve (16, 18) in the flow direction from the pump chamber, the back-feed prevention valve normally held closed and only opened in response to the fluid flow from the pump chamber.
