Abstract

A floor cleaning device consists of a flat, elongated-rectangular frame (1) which holds a soft, skin-like cover and on which a handle (9) is fixed by means of a universal joint (7). A support (13) for the handle (9) can be pivoted by the base out of a tilted-up normal position on the handle (9) to an oblique supporting position between the frame (1) and the handle (9), in which it is supported, with the handle (9) slightly inclined, against an abutment (23) on the frame (1). The supporting arrangement is designed to be of such a stiffness that the cleaning device can be erected with a free-standing handle. If the cleaning device is lent against a wall by the handle, the handle is unable to slide to either side. <IMAGE>
