Abstract

The present invention relates to a railing for fastening on lateral delimiting walls (50, 51), e.g. on the cheeks of a balcony or of a loggia, having fastening load-bearing members (1, 1') which are fitted fixedly on the lateral delimiting walls (50, 51) and exhibit a receiving means (2) for a transverse load-bearing member extending between the fastening load-bearing members (1, 1') which are fitted on the adjacent delimiting walls (50, 51). In order to provide a railing structure which is more lightweight, can be mounted more rapidly and easily and, as far as possible, also offers cost advantages, the invention proposes that, as transverse load-bearing member, there be provided a crossmember (10) which extends, exclusively in the upper region of the railing, between the fastening load-bearing members (1, 1') and absorbs supporting loads. <IMAGE>
