Abstract

The paper sheet smoother (9) is fixed to the machine-frame in a retracted position in relation to the guide track (5,6). A guide element in the form of a plate (13) is movable so as to cover the sheet smoother when pressure is exerted on both sides of the gap between the smoother and the sheet track. The plate is fixed to a guide-section (5) next to the sheet-smoother, which is movable along the guide track along a straight guide. The plate is movably mounted on the machine frame on an axle parallel to the sheet smoother. The parts (5,6) of the guide on both sides of the smoother are also fixed to the machine frame. The cover plate has openings (14) connected to the air-gap (15) of the sheet-smoother.
