Abstract

1. Device for the sharpening of the edges of skis comprising a motor (5) which drives a rotating grinding member (7) and a housing (4) which accommodates the motor (5) and which has a guide surface (3) supportable by abutment members (15, 16, 34) on the respective ski, with the motor (5) of the device being arranged in the housing with a shaft (6) which extends at least substantially perpendicular to the guide surface (3) and with the free end of the shaft being constructed for the releasable attachment of a grinding disk (7), characterised in that the motor (5) is journalled to be restrictedly pivotable about an axis (20) which extends in the longitudinal direction of the guide surface (3) or in the longitudinal direction of the ski ; in that a compression spring (11) is provided between the pivotably journalled motor and the housing (4) ; and in that the support members (15, 16) are attached to the apparatus perpendicular to the guide surface (3) and capable of being supported on the ski (1) at the side, with their distance from a plane disposed vertically through the axis of the pivot bearing being substantially the same as the radius of the grinding disk (7).
