Abstract

The invention relates to a device for connecting two one-rail ladder members (10, 12) which each have a central rail (14) and a number of steps (16). Said device includes a tongue (20) arranged at the end of the one ladder member (10), and coupling plates (28) which are arranged at the end of the other ladder member (12) and form a gap (30) therebetween for holding the tongue (20) which can be arranged on the rear of the central rail (14) and is in a plane defined by the longitudinal axis of the central rail (14). Said gap (30) between the coupling plates (28) may taper in the direction of insertion. A spring-loaded stop bolt (32) can lock in the gap (30) on the tongue (20) when it (20) is in its final position. Said tongue (20) can be secured to a plate (18) secured to the central rail (14). The coupling plates (28) can also be secured to a plate (26) secured to the central rail (14) of the other ladder member (12).
