Abstract

The bottle cork (8) is fixed in the top of the bottle neck (2) with the aid of a plastic sleeve (3) which has a hollow inner cylinder (6) surrounding the upper portion of the cork. The outer portion of the sleeve extends down the neck of the bottle, and its upper and lower sections (3, 4) are separated by a perforated fracture line (5), enabling the upper section to be removed, together with the cork, by a twisting and pulling action. The sleeve is pref. made from a recyclable plastic material such as PVC.
