Abstract
The coupling (21) is positioned in the inactive state behind a front opening (10) closed by a pressure-tight cover (8, 9), below a height adjustable driver seat (5). The coupling is pivoted into the working position, when the driver seat is in the lowered position and the cover is removed, to provide a sealed coupling with a second rail vehicle in front of the first. Pref. the coupling is incorporated in a low-floor rail vehicle (1) with a dynamically angled front face (2) with a pair of front shock absorbers (20, 20') on either side of the coupling.
