Abstract

A grease container/dispenser consists of a cylindrical container with a top (20) preferably in the form of a removable cover and a conical bottom (30) with a controlled outlet (40). The grease is dispensed through the outlet by a piston (70). The piston has one or more scraper ring seals (100), its underside (9) being conical in shape and matching the shape of the container bottom, and it is of sufficient weight to expel the grease by gravity when the outlet is opened. For example, for a container up to 1.5 m in diameter the piston weighs between 100 and 400 kg and preferably between 150 and 300 kg. The upper part of the container can have an inlet (60) for compressed air to assist the piston.
