Abstract

The fuse provides overload and short-circuit protection using a directly heated thermomechanical release (3) and an indirectly heated thermomechanical release (10), associated with a heating conductor (9), connected in series with an electrodynamically-operated contact pair (4,6) in the main current circuit of the fuse. The three individual release organs act on a common switching mechanism. When several fuses are used in combination, only one operates with the switching mechanism, the others acting as repulsion contact devices.
