Abstract

1. A dual-purpose appliance for ironing and taking the creases out of fabrics, comprising a non-metallic hollow body (10) inside which there is a first chamber (13) for holding water, which is provided with an electrical means (21) for heating this water, and a second chamber (14), communicating with the first, for holding the steam produced by heating the water in the first chamber (13), outlet orifices (22) for this steam being provided in the wall of this second chamber (14) to enable crease removal by projecting this steam onto a vertically held, creased fabric, characterised in that a metal plate (11a, 11b) for ironing can be detachably fixed to the said non-metallic hollow body (10) so as to permit crease removal when it is detached, thereby exposing the above-mentioned outlet orifices (22).
