Abstract
The invention concerns a mechanism for directly or indirectly aplying a liquid or pasty medium onto a moving strip of material, in particular a web of cardboard or paper. The mechanism has a basic assembly comprising a supporting beam (3) and a distributor arrangement (4, 11) for feeding the medium to be applied into a feed gap (10) which is delimited by a front wall (9) and a rear wall (5). The mechanism further comprises adjusting and connection arrangements (D, K, L, S, Z), the region (5, 9) of the front and rear walls of the basic assembly being arranged such that components can be removably mounted as necessary to form an application chamber (12) or to form an open jet nozzle metering gap for the medium to be applied. The invention further concerns application mechanisms which comprise a basic assembly with an open jet nozzle or application chamber application arrangement, the application arrangements each being arranged such that the other application variant can be fitted.
