Abstract

The system for supporting and guiding a billet issuing from a mold, incorporating guide and drive rolls installed in segments carried by frames (4, 5). Each segment is provided with beams (11, 12) which are joined to the foundation frame and carry both the fixed and movable frames (4, 5). Stops (13, 14) on the beams (11, 12) are provided for the fixed frames (4), while plungers (15, 16) on the same beams ensure that these frames are pressed against the stops. Hydraulic adjustment cylinders (6, 7) actuating the movable frames (5) are amounted on the other end of the beams (11, 12). Expander springs (8, 9) are installed between the frames (4, 5).
