Abstract

The lance for blowing gases into liquid metal in a converter consists of two concentric pipes (4, 7). The inner pipe (4) serves for delivery of a gas containing oxygen, while an inert gas is delivered through the outer pipe (7). The lance is characterized by the fact that the distance between the inner and outer pipes is at least 1.5 mm, while the thickness of the outer pipe is at least 2.5 mm.
