Abstract

The headlamp has a shaped housing with a forward facing channel (8) around the front edge. A sealing compound in the channel holds a mounting flange (9) around the edge of the front lens. The front of the reflector (19) has a separate extension (5) which is supported by tags (6) pressed into the sealing compound. The main reflector is movable to direct the beam. The mounting tags are flexible and are clipped into ratchet grips formed by the mounting flange of the lens. This enables the extension to be pre-assembled with the lens and pushed into the sealing compound in one simple process.
