Abstract

The pilot light fitting has a part (21) which connects with the water heater gas supply, an intermediate part (22), for mixing gas and air, and a terminal part (23) enveloping and sheltering the gas mixture combustion flame. The part (21) is supported, so that it can be removed, by one of the parts (30) of the gas supply of the water heater so that it can be withdrawn and refitted during maintenance. The part (21) has a split ring (40) which is elastically deformable. The perimeter of this ring (40) is increased, because of it flexibility, when it is removed and refitted during maintenance work. Retention in position of the part (21) is ensured by elastic closing the ring on the part (30) of the water heater. The split ring (40) has two free ends (42,43) situated opposite each other, near to which are feet (47,48) which enable the maintenance engineer to increase the perimeter of the part (21) at the time of its removal or fitting.
