Abstract

1. A showcase, comprising a housing (2) with a plurality of compartments (3) to receive publicity means, the compartments being closed on one side by a partially transparent mirror (4), and at least one light fitting (5), i. e. at least one fluorescent tube or lamp, which is adapted to be switched on periodically, is disposed inside each of the compartments (3), characterised in that the light fitting (5) is disposed above the partially transparent mirror (4) on the mirror side of the housing (2) and a screen (7) is provided between the light fitting (5) and the partially transparent mirror (4), and a control circuit (Fig. 6) is provided for periodically switching on the light fitting (5), said circuit preventing the flicker which occurs when fluorescent tubes or lamps are switched on, the said circuit feeding the fluorescent tube or lamp constantly with a voltage such that when the full striking voltage is applied the fluorescent tube or lamp lights immediately without flicker.
