Abstract
The road traffic monitoring system can be applied to a crossing having four sets of lights (21, 24), with each road lane housing sensors (25-28). The sensors and lights have interfaces (21a-28a). Inductive loops set into the lanes (29) also indicate the approach of vehicles, and each lane is monitored by radar sensors. The units are bus coupled (33) to a host computer (34) that operates as a management system controlling the process. <IMAGE>
